Stories of Ascension

Building Stronger Futures Together: The Wells Fargo Foundation

Our journey with the Wells Fargo Foundation began in 2020 when we received the Open for Business Grant, a $2 million national grant awarded through Wells Fargo’s Open for Business Program. This transformative funding allowed us to provide recovery lending across our footprint.

Since then, Terence Floyd, Vice President of Community Relations at Wells Fargo, has been a champion of financial ascension, deepening our partnership and expanding opportunities for small business owners. Through his leadership, the Wells Fargo Foundation has supported the financial journeys of resilient entrepreneurs by supporting their inspiring stories:

Most recently, in 2024, the Wells Fargo Foundation provided us with a $60,000 grant to enhance Access to Capital and Financial Education initiatives in Boston. This investment has created tangible impacts, enabling us to deliver resources to the smallest of small businesses and empowering entrepreneurs to build stronger futures.

Achieving Financial Ascension Together

Thanks to Wells Fargo’s continued support, we achieved remarkable results in the Boston area:

  • 179 entrepreneurs gained access to capital
  • $5.3 million in funding disbursed, with an average loan size of $30,000
  • 40% women-owned businesses supported
  • 88% entrepreneurs of color (majority Hispanic and Black)
  • 51% immigrant entrepreneurs empowered
  • 62% low-to-moderate-income (LMI) communities served
  • 544 jobs created or retained
  • 452 Boston entrepreneurs received 1,292 hours of technical assistance

Our support from Wells Fargo exemplifies what can be achieved through collaboration, commitment, and a shared vision to uplift small businesses. Together, we continue to pave the way for resilient entrepreneurs who drive local economies and create thriving communities.
